MyIHChart FAQs

What is MyIHChart?

MyIHChart offers patients personalized and secure on-line access to their medical records that are part of the designated record set, as defined under HIPAA, which includes: medical records; billing and payment records; insurance information; clinical laboratory test results; medical images, such as X-rays; wellness and disease management program files; and clinical case notes; among other information used to make decisions about individuals. Is there a fee to use MyIHChart?

MyIHChart is a free service offered to our patients.

How do I sign up?

Patients who wish to participate will be issued a MyIHChart activation code during their clinic or hospital visit. This code will enable you to login and create your own user ID and password. If you were not issued an activation code, you may call your primary care clinic to get one or ask to sign up during you next office or hospital visit or you can visit MyIHChart - Sign Up

When can I see my test results in MyIHChart?

Your test results are released to your MyIHChart account immediately without any delay as required under the 21st Century Cures Act. Information Sharing After the 21st Century Cures Act - Health IT Buzz Health IT Buzz

You should wait to access your portal if you are awaiting results of a sensitive or major diagnosis and would prefer to hear directly from your provider. Waiting to use the portal will prevent potential viewing of these results ahead of time.

Your provider can offer full context and understanding of your test results. While some results may be outside of the normal or typical levels it may not be a concern for you individually.

Your provider will address any need for action and develop any needed treatment plans. Please do not attempt to self-treat any condition without consulting your provider.

Your provider will need time to review your results and should provide you with a timeframe to hear from them. If that timeframe has passed, you should contact the location you received care to follow up.

Why are certain test results not shared electronically via MyIHChart?

Your provider is able to determine under specific situations described in the 21st Century Cures Act to manually prevent the release of some test results to MyIHChart. If you are awaiting a result and have not received it in the timeframe your provider gave you, please contact your provider.

If some of my health information on MyIHChart is not correct, what should I do?

Your MyIHChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record at your doctor's office and/or the hospital. If it appears that some information is inaccurate you can submit a Request for Amendment. Request for Amendment & Restriction | Infirmary Health

Can I view a family member's health record in MyIHChart?

Yes, you can. This is called Proxy access and allows an individual to log into their personal MyIHChart account and provide another individual the ability to access/view their information. A Proxy Consent Form must be filled out and returned to one of our medical facilities Health Information Management (HIM) departments to request access when it is a parent/guardian relationship; the child is 14 or older; or, if the patient is unable to provide access themselves. Can I ask questions regarding a family member from my MyIHChart account?

MyIHChart offers direct access to your personal health record and communicating about another individual's information would be placed in your health record. This information would not appear in the correct health record and could potentially jeopardize medical care.

Can my spouse and I share one MyIHChart account?

No, due to the sensitive nature of medical information, each adult must and establish their own MyIHChart account.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You may contact the help desk at 251-435-4357 or you may also click the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page to reset your password online.

Can you send me a new access code as I have lost it, let it expire or did not receive it?

Follow the same instructions that are listed under the How Do I Sign Up section of this page.

Where can I update my personal information (e.g., home address, e-mail or change my password)?

Log into MyIHChart and from the left menu, go to the Preferences section and select the appropriate option.

How is MyIHChart secure?

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure access codes, personal ID's, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Further, MyIHChart uses the latest 128-bit SSL encryption technology with no caching to automatically encrypt your session with MyIHChart. Unlike conventional e-mail, all MyIHChart messaging is done while you are securely logged on to our website.

What is your Privacy Policy?

MyIHChart is owned and operated by Infirmary Health System, Inc. and is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and e-mail address will be treated with the same care and privacy given your health records and will never be sold or leased by MyIHChart.

I was logged out of MyIHChart, what happened?

We aim to protect your privacy and security of your information. While logged into MyIHChart, if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically logged out of MyIHChart. We recommend that you log out of your MyIHChart session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

What do I need to use MyIHChart?

You need access to a computer connected to the Internet and an up-to-date browser (such as Internet Explorer).

My access code does not work, what should I do?

For your security, your access code expires after 30 days and is no longer valid after the first time you use it. If you still have problems, you may contact our help desk at 251-435-4357 or follow the instructions for How Do I Sign Up section of this page.

Is my access code my user ID?

No, your access code is not your MyIHChart ID or password. You will use this code only once to log into MyIHChart for the first time. (The code will expire after you have used it or after 30 days). When you log into MyIHChart the first time, you will then be asked to create your own unique MyIHChart ID and password.

How do I use Video Visits?

Your video visit requires a tablet, a smartphone, or a computer with a camera and microphone. It also requires a good internet connection.

Why is the number I get Infirmary Health texts from changing?

If you have already been receiving text messages from Infirmary Health Clinic, the number you have been receiving messages from will be changing. This is so we can better serve your communication needs with expanded texting options for communication updates related to your visits, Infirmary Health MyIHChart account, outstanding balances, and care management.

What do I need to do if I want to receive text messages from Infirmary Health?

To begin or continue receiving text messages from Infirmary Health you can text “START” to 98957, to opt into Infirmary Health text messaging. You can also control your opt-in status and communication preferences from your MyIHChart account to specify which updates you would like to receive via text.

What if I no longer want to receive texts from Infirmary Health?

To opt-out of recurring automated messages from Infirmary Health, you can text “STOP” to 98957 at any time or control your opt-out status via your communication preferences within your MyIHChart account. The Infirmary Health MyIHChart Support Line staff can also help ensure your opt-in/opt-out status is set correctly and can be reached at 251-435-4357.
